Since Wolf Trap’s Filene Center opened in 1971, Wolf Trap has been the destination for DC-area residents to enjoy a broad spectrum of arts offerings and summer entertainment. As our region has greatly urbanized, cultural offerings and concert venues have grown more plentiful and programming for venues has expanded to be year-round. The performing arts landscape around us has grown more competitive, more commercial, and less community-oriented.
Wolf Trap has invested in relevant artists, and has a strong history as a performing arts presenter, but competing venues have made significant investments in their facilities, making the experience more enjoyable for audiences and artists.
Wolf Trap, with its last capital investment in 1981, was present, but not advancing; that is, until the Campaign for Wolf Trap: Our Next Chapter initiative began. It is our goal to ensure Wolf Trap stays a top destination for the performing arts and community gatherings year-round.
After more than 50 years of superb music and unforgettable experiences, it’s time for us to come together and make a transformative investment that ensures Wolf Trap is forever.
