Member Presale FAQs


General Presale Questions

What is a members-only presale?

Wolf Trap members at the Friend level and above are invited to purchase tickets for the Filene Center season before they go on sale to the public. All member presale orders must be placed online at wolftrap.org/mytickets. The time your presale begins depends on your membership level. View the schedule for upcoming presales at wolftrap.org/presale.

Members at the Soloist level and above may also purchase tickets to all performances at The Barns at Wolf Trap before they go on sale to the general public. Members at the Friend and Curtain Raiser levels may purchase tickets to select performances at The Barns at Wolf Trap before they go on sale to the general public.

Fan level members can purchase tickets for all Wolf Trap performances when they go on sale to the public. If you’re interested in upgrading your membership, please visit wolftrap.org/upgrade.


What is my member presale schedule?

View your next member presale schedule online, and continue to check your email for the latest updates.


What if I will not have internet access at the time of my presale?

Member presales are available online only via your secure ticket portal, wolftrap.org/mytickets. If you have questions about accessing your ticket portal or would like to request an order form, please contact Wolf Trap Development at 703.255.1927 or give@wolftrap.org for assistance before your presale day.


How many tickets can I order?

Unless otherwise specified, members can purchase up to 10 tickets per performance. There is a four-ticket limit for seats in the Pit section at the Filene Center.


How will I know when additional shows have been announced?

All communications regarding newly added shows will be sent via email. Be sure you are receiving emails from Wolf Trap—add give@wolftrapmailing.org and/or encorecircle@wolftrapmailings.org to your safe sender list, or verify your email address with us at give@wolftrap.org.


Can I request different seats once my transaction is complete?

Ticket purchases cannot be altered during the presale period. However, members have the opportunity to exchange their performance tickets after the presale period.


Can I use a Wolf Trap gift card/gift certificate to purchase tickets?

Yes! You are welcome to use multiple Wolf Trap gift cards during the checkout process when purchasing your tickets.

Accessing my ticket account through Wolf Trap’s secure ticket portal (wolftrap.org/mytickets)

Wolf Trap's ticket portal, hosted by our partners at tickets.com, provides the safest, most secure environment for buying and managing all of your Wolf Trap tickets year-round. See all of your performance tickets in one place, view seat locations, transfer tickets to a friend, and more!

Most importantly, you will access your member presale through the Wolf Trap ticket portal.

Please note: Wolf Trap's ticket portal is entirely separate from My Wolf Trap, our member-insider website, where you can view members-only content and register for events.


How do I log in to my ticket account?

To access your ticket account, login to wolftrap.org/mytickets with your email address and a password. The email address linked to your ticket account may be different from the email address where you receive membership information.

If you are unsure of your password, select in blue font “Forgot Password?” link on the login web page, enter your email address, and you will receive an email at that address containing further instructions. Please note: the email address you enter must match the address we have on file in your ticket account.

If you have never purchased Wolf Trap tickets online, set up a ticket account, or get an “Invalid Information” pop up when you enter your email address after clicking “Forgot Password,” please select the blue “Sign Up” button, and follow the prompts to create a new ticket account.


How do I access my presale?

Once you have logged into your ticket account on your presale day, select the “Click for Exclusive Offers and Members Only Presale” icon on the upper right-hand corner (pictured below).

Newly-announced performances will not appear in your ticket account until your scheduled presale time. You may have to refresh your browser if you login prior to the presale time. (For more details, view your next presale schedule online).


How do I pick my seats during my presale?

This varies based on member level:

  • Encore Circle members select their preferred seating section during the purchase process. When purchasing tickets, we recommend selecting the “Best Available” option in your preferred section. Encore Circle members can email encorecircle@wolftrap.org after placing their ticket order with any specific seating needs or requests to be considered during seat assignment. We encourage you to be as detailed as needed.

    The Box Office personally fulfills orders by membership level and date received. If tickets are not available in their selected seating area during seat assignment, they will receive the next best available section and a refund for any difference in price.

  • Associates members select a specific seat when purchasing tickets during the members-only presale based on availability and preferred price point. 

For Accessible seating, please call the Accessible Tickets Line at 703.255.1868 during your presale period.


How will I know if my online order is complete, and/or if my purchase was successful?

You will receive a confirmation email from Wolf Trap with your order details. Please be sure to add "wolftrap@wolftrapmailings.org" and/or "encorecircle@wolftrapmailings.org" to your “Safe Senders” list to ensure that it does not get marked as Spam. If you do not receive a confirmation email within five minutes, please check your Spam folder. If it still has not appeared, please call Ticket Services at 703.255.1868.

Associates members’ tickets will appear in their ticketing inventory immediately. Encore Circle members will receive an email notification shortly after their presale deadline, once their seat locations are ready for viewing in your ticket account.


When and how will I receive my tickets?

You may select to have your tickets delivered digitally or be held at Will Call.


Is there a service charge on my order?

For members at the Executive Producer level and above, all service charges are waived during member presales.

Members at the Curtain Raiser level and above incur a flat service charge of $17.50 per order (regardless of number of tickets purchased) during member presales. This charge will occur each time you check out—if you order tickets in two different sessions, then you will be charged two separate service charges.

Friend level members pay per-ticket service charges and a handling fee per order. The total charge varies on the number of seats purchased.


If I need to contact someone via phone regarding tickets, whom do I call?

Members experiencing technical difficulties with ordering tickets, please contact the Development office at 703.255.1927 or by email at give@wolftrap.org. For questions regarding Accessible seating, please call Ticket Services at 703.255.1868. Phone orders are not accepted during presales.

My Wolf Trap—your member’s only website

What is the difference between my ticket portal and My Wolf Trap?

My Wolf Trap is your member-insider website, where you can manage your membership, register for members-only events (including Dinner and a Show packages), and receive exclusive insider information.

What if I forget or misplace my User ID and/or password for My Wolf Trap?

If you cannot remember your User ID, please contact the Development Office at 703.255.1927 or by email at give@wolftrap.org, and our staff will be able to assist. If you cannot remember your password, please click “Forgotten password” on the main login webpage for My Wolf Trap and follow the instructions. To ensure the privacy of our members, Wolf Trap staff do not have access to your password information.

Email Questions

When and how will I receive more information about members-only presales?

All members-only presale announcements are sent by email. This information will include detailed instructions on purchasing tickets through your ticket portal before they go on sale to the general public.

Since updates will be sent by email only, please ensure that your information is correct! To verify your information through My Wolf Trap, please click “Update My Profile” on the top-right corner of the screen. If you’re on a mobile device, click “My Account” on the top of the screen, then click “Update My Profile”.

Do you receive our member biweekly email? This members-only email is a great benefit of membership; always full of information regarding shows, events, and programs within education and opera. If you don’t receive our biweekly email, but would like to, please contact the Development office at 703.255.1927 or by email at give@wolftrap.org.


What if I do not want to subscribe to emails from Wolf Trap?

Although we attempt to use multiple channels for important communications, email is the best way for us to share membership and benefit information as well as event invitations, foundation news, and performance updates. Email communication is often more convenient for our members and helps Wolf Trap provide breaking news in a timely manner and keep costs low, ensuring that as much of your contribution goes towards our arts and education programs as possible.

Wolf Trap respects your privacy and will never share or sell your email address to another organization. If you would no longer like to receive email from Wolf Trap, contact the Development office at 703.255.1927 or by email at give@wolftrap.org to be removed from our mailing list. Please note that some membership information is available only by email.


I want to update my information with Wolf Trap. Whom do I contact?

To update your information at any time through My Wolf Trap, please click “Update My Profile” on the top-right corner of the screen. If you’re on a mobile device, click “My Account” on the top of the screen, then click “Update My Profile.” You may also contact the Development office at 703.255.1927 or by email at give@wolftrap.org.
