A week after the last show of the summer season, Wolf Trap hosted its spectacular annual Ball on September 21 on the iconic Filene Center stage.

Co-chaired by Kevin and Beth Smithson and AJ and Chris Andreas, the black-tie “Dim All The Lights” Ball was a nod to the glamorous, energetic disco era. The evening included a backstage reception, elegant dinner, and a Studio 54-inspired party for the 800 supporting guests who donated a collective $2.2 million.

"My husband Chris and I are truly honored to serve as Ball co-chairs, especially in this milestone year with the debut of the new Meadow Commons," said AJ Andreas. "Wolf Trap is a place that is more inclusive than ever, and we are proud to be part of that effort."

“With the addition of new amenities and enhanced accessibility, Wolf Trap is truly entering a new era,” added Kevin Smithson. “We couldn’t be prouder of the community’s generosity in making this transformation possible.”

The stage was a sparkling spectacle, featuring more than 5,000 disco balls—collectively weighing a ton—with a stunning 10-foot-wide disco ball as the centerpiece. Shipped from New York City for the occasion, the Lincoln Center disco ball added an extra touch of grandeur to the night.

Dinner kicked off with a soulful and stirring rendition of the “Star-Spangled Banner” by The Voice alum Rayshun LaMarr. Later, he was joined by Emmy-nominated singer Felicia Curry for a captivating duet of Donna Summer's classic “Dim All the Lights.” Both are veterans of the Filene Center Stage.

“This past Saturday, we celebrated the culmination of a fantastic summer season as we entered a new era at Wolf Trap,” said Arvind Manocha, President & CEO of Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts. "This new period brings unparalleled growth and energy to the Foundation, and is defined by strength, joy, and the promise of an even brighter future."
