Wine and Dine at Wolf Trap Celebrates a Milestone for The Barns
May 16, 2025 | Wolf Trap Special Events

Chef Aaron Silverman took the stage to speak about his inspiration for the menu.
Cheers to the power of the performing arts! On April 30, the annual Wine and Dine at Wolf Trap took over The Barns, raising a record-breaking $430,000 in support of Wolf Trap's performances and arts education programs. More than two hundred guests gathered at this sold-out event to sip and savor delectable wines paired with a unique multi-course dinner, curated by Michelin-star Chef Aaron Silverman and Master Sommelier Justin Moore of Rose's Restaurant Group.

Guests enjoyed a selection of carefully curated wines during the tasting reception.

Master Sommelier Justin Moore provided a wealth of knowledge about the evening’s wine selections.
The event also marked the celebration of the German Barn's 300th birthday. One of The Barns' two historic structures, the German Barn was built in 1725 in upstate New York. Thanks to the expert knowledge of barn preservationists, who transported and rebuilt the barn piece-by-piece, the German Barn was reborn right here in Vienna, Virginia.

The beauty of the German Barn was on full display throughout the night.

Historic flare was a fitting theme throughout the evening, as Chef Silverman and Sommelier Moore led guests through a culinary journey inspired by the 1700s and early American cooking. Menu highlights included lobster atop a seared grit cake featuring a cherry tomato and rum sauce from a recipe by Martha Washington!

Dinner began with an amuse bouche of devilied ham gougères and French vegetable crudité, a nod to the food of early American gatherings.

Cheers to a great evening!
