Over the past four summers, Wolf Trap has unveiled capital improvements for the benefit of visitors―new picnic areas, improved restrooms, accessibility features, entertaining spaces, and more. In May 2025, patrons will be welcomed by a brand-new Filene Center Main Gate.

Construction and design partners LF Jennings and Gensler are upgrading the Main Gate to be eye-catching and welcoming for concertgoers. The upgrade is both aesthetic and operational, offering enhanced security and increased accessibility.

The new, modern wooden design complements other recent additions, and will be an elevated and inspiring first impression of our beloved venue.

In addition to the upgraded Main Gate, the sidewalks and plaza are being repaved to an aggregate concrete to match the other new pathways around the Filene Center, creating a cohesive look and feel around the Park.

“Encore Gate”, adjacent to Main Gate, is also being refreshed for greater accessibility, and to match the aesthetic of the Meadow Gate that was unveiled in 2024.

These upgrades are thanks to the many generous donors who contributed to the Campaign for Wolf Trap: Our Next Chapter, and funded four new pavilions, backstage artist area renovations, the new seating configuration in the Filene Center, an upgraded sound system, Meadow Overlook picnic terraces, and the Meadow Commons building that opened in 2024. The Campaign for Wolf Trap also raised endowment funds to ensure a strong base of support for Wolf Trap.

We look forward to welcoming you when the new Main Gate opens in May!
